Trying 3/4" square brass tubes as a frame around this resin slab, which also contains brass rods. The resulting painting is rather heavy but there are many strong wall mount types available.

Multicolored hot air balloons set in equilateral triangles of 60° similar to a stained glass window, the colored areas are separated by brass rods bent to the shape.

This stunning 23" x 23" piece could be set in a window as a sun catcher or mounted to the wall with an LED rope light reflecting white light through the transparent image. The final layer of clear resin is poured onto the composition of hot air balloons just high enough to cover the highest brass rod. The rods were bent and placed to outline the balloon assembly created with a tessellation design.

23" x 23" balloon resin art painting
This hot air balloon design is a tessellation, a reflection of the contents of an equilateral triangle to adjacent triangles in three directions. Brass rods are bent into the segment shapes and laid on a hard resin layer. Then a 1/16″ clear resin layer is poured to seal between the rods. Small amounts of colored resin are poured carefully in the spaces. When the resin colors have cured, a 3/16″ clear layer is poured just covering the brass rods. The finished slab is 0.5″ thick. A 3/4″ square brass fram will be included (see additional picture).
